Maxell to change DLTtape® reel colors
Maxell offers a number of different data resource computer tapes under its DLTtape® brand. As described below, the color of the reels of these tapes will be changed from September 2007.
In order to help customers visually distinguish its different types of computer tapes, Maxell uses differently colored reels and cartridges for each model.
From September 2007, Maxell will use black tape reels, the same as those used in the DLTtape®IV cartridge, for all its models, while leaving the cartridge colors unchanged.
There will be no variation in tape quality due to this change.

About the alteration
Currently, DLTtape® brand tape reels, which can be seen in the center on the back of each tape cartridge, are color coded to match the color of the cartridge. Maxell plans to make all such reels a uniform black color. There will be no variation in tape quality.
Implementation date
This change will affect computer tapes manufactured at Maxell production facilities in September 2007 or after.
